Star Wars: The Saga Continues…

Star Wars: The Saga Continues…

So it’s pretty safe to say, we all knew when the announcement was made this past fall, that Disney had acquired Star Wars from Lucasfilm, that new movies would be made. Clearly there would be sequels, after all Lucas had originally written the movie as having nine parts, and with a fan base so large, it would be silly not to finish them off.

This week, Disney announced plans to make a number of spin-off movies as well the post-Return of the Jedi trilogy. The Star Wars Universe is far bigger than most people think. In addition to the six existing movies, there are countless comics, novels, games, as well as several Star Wars magazines, in a wide array of languages. Naturally, Disney is gonna capitalize on this.

So far, there has been serious talk of a young Hans Solo film and a film on everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. The Hans Solo film would serve as an origin story and even if Harrison Ford was used to help frame the film, they are gonna need someone even younger than Ford was (35) in the original films to play the majority of the role. So start thinking up your dream list folks!

As for Boba Fett, we’re already gotten a glimpse of his origin, in the prequels he was revealed to be the son of the original stormtrooper clone, who was played by Temuera Morrison. Word is the Boba Fett movie, if it comes to fruition will most likely take place between either A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, or Empire and Jedi, so Morrison might still be in the right age range for that.

Everything is still in pre-production, so nothing is guaranteed to come to fruition. Still it’s nice to get an idea of what the possibilities are.

Are you excited for new movies? Worried about the Disney take over? Who would you dream cast as Young Hans Solo? Who else would you want to see get a solo film? Hit up the comments and let us know what you think.
