This Monday, BBC released a full trailer for the upcoming season of Doctor Who, which begins airing on Saturday August 23rd, with a brand new Doctor.

Last August, the BBC announced that Peter Capaldi would be taking over as the 12th Doctor (not counting “The War Doctor” introduced in the 50th Anniversary special), after Matt Smith departed from the series. Since then, fans have been eagerly, or not so eagerly, awaiting a glimpse of what was bound to be a big shift in the tone of series.  Click below to see what’s in store.

Well, it’s safe to say, it’s looking like Doctor Who is going darker, which personally I am not opposed to. I know I’m in the minority here, but I LOVED the Nine era. There was more of a heaviness to them, a darker tone. Even Ten, for all his lovableness had a darker side to him/his episodes. Don’t get me wrong I ADORE Matt Smith and his Eleven, but never fully believed in his “dark side” as The Doctor. So as much as I am going to miss Eleven am I excited for a new Era. How bout you?
