That’s right folks everyone’s fave Companion, and current Gotham-ite, Morena Baccarin has been cast as love interest in to Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.
The role was being called “Lindsay” for casting purposes, but it’s safe to say that’s probably just an alias, is described as
“Smart, tough, beautiful but a little bit broken. Nothing has ever been easy for her and she’s developed a thick skin and cynical outlook. But she’s not a victim—she may not have a great life but she’s holding it together and does what she needs to get by. She’s got a great sense of humor but it leans heavily towards irony and sarcasm.”
So the question really becomes, who is Lindsay? Some wonder if she will be Shiklah, Queen of The Undead, who recently married our Darling Deadpool. However, as this is most likely an origins tale, Lindsay is more likely a cover for Vanessa Carlyle, who is known as Copycat in the comics. Copycat was a blue skinned shape-shifting mutant, who was working as a prostitute when she met Wade Wilson. It wouldn’t be the first time FOX gave us a blue skinned shape-shifting mutant, or even Morena as a um…companion. Go with what you know FOX.
Of course, “Lindsay” could be someone entirely different. She could be just a regular human, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Below you can find links to some of the things we talked about:
We here at It’s All Geek To Me have been all a buzz about Deadpool since, well … that leaked footage. Tim Miller is promising an amazing film which will begin production some time in March in Vancouver. Recently we were told that Colossus will be in the film, but now we have a villain .. and it’s a she!
Geeks, I am seriously going to pine for Agent Carter once it is tucked back on the shelf and S.H.I.E.L.D. returns. While I am excited for all that SHIELD will be the rest of this season, Marvel really knocked it out of the park giving Peggy her own series. Bravo, bravo. Before I get too sentimental, here is another nifty sneak for next week’s episode, “Snafu”.
Yes, you read that headline correctly. In a fabulous announcement, DC Comics has released that along with Diggle and Arsenal, they are going to be mass producing our beloved techie Felicity Smaok action figures! Who is doing a happy dance?
MARVEL’s Agent Carter is really starting to heat up! Peggy is facing off against Leviathan, the Red Room, Howard Stark and now, her fellow SSR officers. With only two episodes left in the mini-series (insert Cate crying), these sneak peeks are becoming one of my favorite parts of the week!
That’s right folks, Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! According to Deadline.com “Under the deal, Spider-Man will appear in his film Marvel film that is part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, and then Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017. ” Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are on board to steer the ship as producers.
Basically, Sony has agreed to loan everyone’s fave webslinger to Marvel for before returning their own Spider-Man franchise. Which, you have to admit, is a pretty brilliant marketing strategy. After Marvel has been wildly successful, they made a talking raccoon and a tree beast marketable after all, and lets face it, Sony, not so much…Spider-Man 3 anyone?
It also means, that Marvel is pushing back some titles to avoid competition with Sony’s next Spider-Man movie on July 28th 2017, originally supposed to be up against Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel Studios have now pushed back the Norse God’s third installment to November 3rd, 2017. This means we’ll have to wait a little longer to see Black Panther (July 6th, 2018), Captain Marvel (November 2nd, 2018) and Inhumans (July 12th 2019). Luckily the next two Avenger films, Avengers Infinity Parts I & II remain at their scheduled release dates (May 4th, 2018 & May 3 2019 respectively).
Plus this opens the door, for more characters to be able to cross-pollinate the Marvel Universe and that’s just awesome. Adding Spidy to the roster opens up a world of possibilities in terms of story lines, and perhaps the Marvel/Sony alliance, as I have decided to call it, will lead to further deals in the future. I’m looking at you FOX.
