Y’all know by now how much we adore Agent Carter and just how badly we want a season 2. What gives us hope is when the industry recognizes the shows and actors we adore. It was released today that our beloved Agent Carter has garnered 3 (not 1, not 2, but 3!) Saturn Award Nominations. More under the cut.
Some other fabulous news, aside form the three nominations, is that YOU can be a part of the voting process. That’s right! It won’t just be a bunch of industry people being ployed by the gift baskets and press packets sent to them by the productions, we have a say. For a small fee of $25, you and I can become affiliate members to The Academy. Seems a small price to pay for the ability to be sure our vote and our voices matter.
The three nominations are “Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series,” “Best Actress in a Television Series” and “Best Guest Performance in a Television Series.” Holla at ya, Agent Carter, Hayley Atwell and Dominic Cooper. Below is the list of who our favorite super spy is up against.
Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series:
- Agent Carter
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
- Arrow
- Constantine
- The Flash
- Gotham
Best Actress in a Television Series:
- Haley Atwell – Agent Carter
- Caitronia Balfe – Outlander
- Vera Farmiga – Bates Motel
- Jessica Lange – American Horror Story: Freak Show
- Rachel Nichols – Continuum
- Rebecca Romjin – The Librarians
Best Guest Performance in a Television Series:
- Dominic Cooper – Agent Carter
- Neil Patrick Harris – American Horror Story: Freak Show
- John Larroquette – The Librarians
- Wentworth Miller – The Flash
- Michael Pitt – Hannibal
- Andrew J. West – The Walking Dead
Now, just looking at the competition our little engine that could has some steep competition. Michael Pitt in Hannibal is a huge bit of competition for Dominic Cooper and Jessica Lang is basically TV royalty in the best actress category. Does that mean they will automatically win? Absolutely not. Know why? Because we can have a say. Don’t let this be a missed opportunity, Carterettes! Hop on over to SaturnAwards.org and get yourself a membership.
