We are big fans of Firefly, cons and all things geeky. So when you offer up the chance to combine those things? We. Are. In. So when Alan Tudyk announced his new project Con Man on indiegogo we were positively giddy.
Click below for more info.
The campaign is seeking $450,000 and has an April 9 deadline.
Alan Tudyk will be writing, directing, and starring, and he’s brought some familiar faces to help him out. Nathan Fillion is producing the series and starring along with fellow “Firefly” alums Sean Maher and Gina Torres. Also joining in on the fun are James Gunn, yes that James Gunn, Seth Green, Felicia Day, and Amy Acker. PJ Haarsma, is also producing.
In a brilliant move, Tudyk will portray Wray Nerely, the co-star of sci-fi series ‘Spectrum’ (in which he played the spaceship’s pilot) — which cancelled before its time, eventually became a cult classic beloved by fans. Hmm, sounds a bit familiar, huh? Fillion will portray Nerely’s good friend Jack Moore, who starred in the series (as the ship’s captain) and has gone on to become a major celebrity. He’s like “Matt Damon” famous.
The series follows Tudyk’s character as he tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events, and all the weird and crazy things that happen along the way.
If that is not enough to make you want to donate your life savings, check out the campaign video.
