Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, in theaters February 2016

For years, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has spent years in developmental purgatory waiting for a director that wouldn’t walk right back out of the revolving door. While this please the Austin purists, many zombie fans were and are excited to see it finally get made. With the addition of some top names to the cast and crew, it is sure to make some waves when it hits the theater February 19, 2016.

If you have no idea what the premise of the book it (although, the title pretty much sums it up), a mysterious plague breaks out in Meryton causing Lizzie Bennet and her sisters to take up swords instead of ribbons to take on hoards of the undead. Yes, you read that right. Zombies in Jane Austin. The book had such popularity that it is now being made into a film.

Lily James, current Cinderella on the big screen and most well known as Lady Rose MacClare in Downton Abbey, will be our “badass warrior” (her own words) Lizzie Bennet. With other big names such as Matt Smith (Mr. Collins), Lena Headey and Sam Riley (Mr. Darcy) it is sure to be well acted if nothing else.

What say you Austin fans? Excited? Interested? Repulsed?
