Don’t panic, y’all. Deep breaths. Relax. In Joss we trust. And before you say, no this isn’t a cosmic Avengers joke on Joss’s part … there really is no post-credit scene. Remember I said In Joss We Trust? He has a very good reason.

Before you read further, I need to add: SPOILERS.

Remember the fabulous post-battle shawarma scene from the The Avengers? Awesome, right? Well, Joss says they just couldn’t top it. Apparently it came together rather by accident. And in Joss we trust.

“We all came at it separately—we don’t want to chase that,” Whedon says. “That was a jewel and a weird little quirk. “

Fear not, Marvel addicts, there will be a tag, although it will not be that lovely post-post credits scene that had us all standing in the doorways waiting to see what nugget of mind-blowing awesome was to come before the next film. Nope. not this time. Why?

“The first rule of making a sequel is take the best moments and do something else. Don’t do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don’t try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it.”

Joss says it best. Don’t chase it. We are getting some super secret female character. I am going to assume right now that it isn’t Peggy Carter because we have known about Hayley Attwell in Ultron and Ant-Man for a bit now. Linda Cardellini who was added to the cast still has no character name listed on IMDB and with the knowledge of a Black Widow origin plot line, I am assuming Linda will be Natasha’s Red Room trainer. Fiege has already said no Captain Marvel reveal. He also says of this super secret female character:

“It’s not a big deal. But it’s a good character.”

Oh, Fiege, how little you know us. Of course it’s a big deal.
