Young Vic ‘Streetcar Named Desire’ with Gillian Anderson and Ben Foster coming stateside

In September of last year I had the privilege of having a National Theatre Live Event showing of Streetcar Named Desire from the Young Vic at a local movie theatre. I walked out of that showing awestruck. This was the kind of theatre I went to theatre school to make. This was the kind of magic that I longed to go to the theatre and see with my own eyes, not through a movie screen. My longing is about to be fulfilled as the Streetcar Named Desire with Gillian Anderson and Ben Foster is about to come stateside.

It was announced yesterday on Theatremania.com that Streetcar will be part of the St. Ann’s Warehouse 2016 season. The dates of the run will be April 23 – May 22, 2016. The theatre is a 25,000-square-foot theater at the Tobacco Warehouse on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park. I, for one, can not wait to see this theatre let alone get the chance to see this amazing production in person.

No news on when tickets go on sale to the general public, but you can bet your geek butts that we will let you know when they do … after we snag ours, of course.
