Our opposing teams have lobbed their first volleys! Somehow #TeamSHIELD is in the lead despite #TeamCarter’s celebrity appearance by Miss Piggy. Perhaps Clark Gregg’s legs are just that fabulous. What say you, geeks?
You read that post title correctly, geeks, I promise. Back in April there was a rumor floating around the inter webs that Marvel was going to do an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff, but nothing much came of that news. Now, they have changed their course, as it were, and are ordering a Mockingbird-centric pilot. But wait, there’s more! Said pilot will be titled Marvel’s Most Wanted and center around Bobbi Morse and her on-again-off-again relationship with none other than Nick Bloods Lance Hunter.
Tobias Menzies is popularly known amongst the Outlander fans as loving husband Frank Randall and a complete-180-evil-villain Black Jack Randall. Menzies’s portrayal of both characters has been stunning to say the least. A performance that, while just as wonderful, would have lacked an intimacy and emotion that director Anna Foerster brought to the table. The Outlander season one finale which was directed by Foerster (as well as several of the fan-favorite episodes such as ‘The Wedding’) saw Menzies villainous Black Jack sexually assault the show’s hero. Tough stuff to act and direct.
You read correctly, geeks! NBC has committed to producing the pilot of a new comedy call Powerless. Wait, wait, wait. NBC? The network that drove Constantine into the ground? The network that canceled Hannibal? The network that can never seem to get this whole ‘TV’ thing right? Okay. Just so we’re on the same page. What does this have to do with DC Comics? I’m glad you asked.
Back in January we reported that Gillian Anderson would star as Anna Pavlovna in BBC’s newest adaptation of War and Peace. It has been more than 40 years since the series starring Anthony Hopkins hit the airwaves and the network is now ready to bring us a four-part miniseries set to air on Lifetime, A&E Network, and History in the states come January.
Star Wars and makeup are not two words that I would often put in a sentence with each other. Yes, there is makeup in Star Wars, some pretty awesome makeup if I’m honest, but in the generic cosmetics industry ‘Star Wars‘ is not a name often associated. Excuse me while I fangirl and run out to buy all the things.
Work sure has not been in low demand for Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery. Already, with the show soon wrapping on it’s final episode, Dockery has been slated to star in a pilot for TNT called Good Behavior, to play the lead in Les Liaisons Dangereus at the Donmar Warehouse this winter and now to star in the film The Sense of An Ending based on a novel by Julian Barnes. When you’re a star, you’re a star.
