In further preparation for The Psych Movie, coming to USA in December, I am continuing my Series long rewatch, and picking out my fave top 5 episodes from each season.
For those of you following us on twitter, you may notice bouts of live tweets while I revisit one of my fave shows. You can check out my Top 5 of Season One HERE.
Click below to see my top five episodes of Season Two, in no particular order.
1) American Duos (July 13th, 2007)
Quick Sum Up: Shawn & Gus are hired to protect a reality-show judge who has escaped a series of attempts on his life.
Why It’s Awesome: Season Two Starts off with a bang! First off you have Shawn & Gus entering a parody of American Idol, which was entering it’s 6th season, to protect the Simon Cowell-esq judge, Nigel St. Nigel, played to absolute perfection by the ever amazing Tim Curry. Which means we are treated not only to a singing Shawn & Gus, but a HYPER competitive Jules. Plus Nigel tormenting Henry has to be one of the greatest scenes of the series.
2) Bounty Hunters! (September 14th, 2007)
Quick Sum Up: Juliet asks Shawn and Gus for help in capturing an accused murderer who escaped from her. They track the man down, but soon discover he is innocent and they try to find the real killer – but things are complicated by a bounty hunter.
Why It’s Awesome: Kevin Sorbo as a cocky/ jerky bounty hunter. The Camp Tikihama song over the credits and MOST importantly, the close talking scene at the end.
3) Gus’s Dad May Have Killed An Old Guy (December 7th 2007)
Quick Sum Up: Gus’ dad is accused of murdering the meanest man in the neighborhood, and he enlists Shawn’s help to clear him.
Why It’s Awesome: It’s the very first christmas episode, there are holiday-ified opening credits. Plus Phylicia Reshad & Ernie Hudson play Gus’s parents.
4) Lights, Camera…Homicidio (January 25th 2008)
Quick Sum Up: Shawn and Gus investigate a murder on the set of a popular Spanish soap opera.
Why It’s Awesome: Spanish Title sequence! Alsoly watching Shawn trying to spanglish his way through the reveal at the end is one of my favorite things.
5) Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion (February 8th, 2008)
Quick Sum Up: In order to investigate the murders of both heads of a prestigious fashion house, Shawn and Gus go undercover as models.
Why It’s Awesome: Shawn and Gus pretending to be models? Clearly hilarity will ensue. Throw in snarky models commenting on Jules and Lassie’s clothing and Henry dating again, well it’s a really funny episode. Plus Melanie Lynskey guests and she is ADORABLE as always.
Well what do you think? Is there an Awesome Psych episode/moment of season two that I forgot to mention? Hit up the comments and let me know!
